Live, premiere or encore? Know what you are listening to

The station stream and the way an individual show was produced are two different things.

Live, premiere or encore? Know what you are listening to

Pressing Listen connects you to the station’s current audio stream. It does not necessarily mean the presenter is speaking at that moment.

A live program is produced as it airs. A prerecorded premiere is a completed episode getting a scheduled first airing. An encore is a later airing of a program that has already been presented.

Why the labels matter

An invitation to call during a prerecorded interview may refer to the original production, not an open phone line today. A time-sensitive discussion may also belong to an earlier recording. Clear labels help listeners understand that context.

iTalk’s website program guide supports these distinctions. Consult its published airtimes when they are available, and use the episode’s original information when exploring on-demand material.

Our aim is simple: let the conversation be engaging without blurring when it happened. A good interview is still a good interview on an encore; it just deserves to be described accurately.

Favorites, saved episode IDs and listening positions stay in this browser. They are not a website account, do not sync between devices and do not download audio for offline use. Clearing browser data removes them. Your site receives normal requests for public episode details, not progress uploads.

Clearing choices affects this browser only—not station content. Episode controls use your browser’s media support. Sleep timers can be delayed when your device suspends the tab.
